Body Butter v Body Yogurt
Updated: Feb 6
If you haven't heard about The Body's Shop's iconic Body Butter - then let's us introduce you to the product that you never know you needed and won't be able to live without once you try it ! Did you know that our founder, Anita Roddick actually coined the term Body Butter in 1992 ? It’s because of the way it melts into your skin like buttah!
A common question that we hear is - "What is the difference between Body Butter and Body Yogurt?"
If your skin feels dry or uncomfortable, our iconic body butters will keep you soft, smooth and hydrated for up to 72 hours. All of our rich butters are made with community trade shea butter. If you’re new to the collection, try our classic Mango Body Butter or our exotic and super hydrating Coconut Body Butter. Allow a few minutes for the body butter to settle before dressing. We find that on average it takes around 2-5 minutes to fully absorb in.
A Body Yogurt is a moisturizer that absorbs in seconds and works even on damp skin, providing 48 hours of lightweight moisture. No time to moisturize? We get it. That’s why we invented Body Yogurts. Because when it only takes a few seconds to get glowing, healthy-looking skin, there’s more time for the things you care about. We find it takes around 30-60 seconds to absorb in....making it super easy to put on pants (even leggings) right after applying the yogurt.
So the main difference between the two is that Body Yogurt is much lighter and quickly absorbed. While the Body Butter is a thick cream and is made for deep hydration.
So it really depends on the level of moisture you want out of your moisturizer!
The Shea or Coconut Body Butters are our favorite body butters; while the almond milk and strawberry are our favorite body yogurts …what are yours?
